Our firm handles the complete range of family and employment law issues, from a simple uncontested dissolution to the most complicated litigation. While we work hard to save our client’s time, money and stress, we have the experience and energy to vigorously pursue their best interests. We are confident that when any case requires going to court, we can provide the best preparation and the toughness to bring about a successful conclusion. Our first area of concern when we meet with a client is to determine what their specific situation is and what their options may be.
In Family Law: We are committed to advocating for the most advantageous outcome for clients. We believe that there are many situations that can be resolved between the parties without actually proceeding to divorce. Divorce proceedings, particularly if they are hotly contested, can be very lengthy and expensive. They may end up satisfying neither party. There have been recent reports regarding individuals who try to do their divorces/dissolutions themselves without consulting with attorneys. When individuals attempt to represent themselves in family law matters, court personnel cannot provide legal advice. In most instances, people do not understand their rights. As a result, many people who represent themselves waive their rights to spousal support, child support, and assets. Others wrongly assume debts that may cause devastating financial consequences. We have consulted with people who have been ruined financially because they did not have the benefit of sound legal advice when pursuing the termination of a marriage.
We strongly believe that a do-it-yourself divorce is not in anyone’s best interests. We will be happy to conduct a consultation to review proposals from one spouse to another to assist in the resolution of your case.
While dissolutions allow the parties to reach an agreement without having a judge decide in favor of one party or the other and seem less expensive and faster than contested divorces, representation by an experienced attorney is critical to avoiding later issues that we may not be able to remedy.
In contested divorces, very complex issues and technical legal procedures in Court can make the process difficult and painful for both parties and their children, especially if there are financial and personal issues that cannot be agreed between both parties. In those cases, clients need the advice of counsel, which is provided as determined representation by our firm.
In Employment Law We look for evidence of discrimination or retaliation that can be pursued on a legitimate basis to gain satisfaction for a client. We will pursue the matter to the fullest, including filing charges with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Wage-Hour, as well as state and/or federal lawsuits, to increase the likelihood of obtaining the best results possible for our clients.
Even if the best course seems to be arriving at a settlement without filing a lawsuit, our experience has been that resolute representation is required.
